Smetana’s Litomyšl
The most famous native of Litomyšl, composer Bedřich Smetana, is celebrated every summer with a big music festival. Dating from 1949, it is the second oldest music festival in the Czech Republic. The main program consists of opera productions, concert versions of operas, gala concerts, oratorios, cantatas and songbook evenings, but the varied program also offers room for ballet, church and promenade concerts or forms that overlap other genres. The center of festival events is the magnificent Litomyšl Renaissance château with a covered courtyard and unique theater, registered as a UNESCO site.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus situation we are forced to cancel the 62nd Smetana's Litomysl programme as originally planned. All the purchased tickets will be refunded. It is necessary to claim your refund where you bought your tickets. If bought online, the refund will be sent automatically.

It is prepared a new chamber programme for a shortened version of the festival, which will be held from 2nd to 12th July 2020.
